About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Nurse to join its Intensive Care Unit (ICU) & Critical Care team.

In this role, you will provide safe, high-quality and patient-centred nursing care to patients within a busy critical care environment. You will work closely with an experienced multidisciplinary and leadership team to support positive clinical outcomes and an exceptional patient experience.

You will be supported by the Nurse Unit Manager, Clinical Nurse Educator and an experienced leadership team committed to ongoing clinical education and professional development.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering safe, evidence-based nursing care to critical care and cardiac patients
• Monitoring, assessing and responding to changes in patients’ clinical conditions
• Interpreting ECG results and escalating concerns appropriately
• Working collaboratively with medical, nursing and allied health professionals
• Maintaining accurate clinical documentation using computerised reporting systems
• Supporting patients and their families throughout their care
• Promoting high standards of patient safety, communication and customer service
• Contributing to continuous improvement and professional development activities
• Managing competing priorities within a busy clinical environment

About You

To be considered for this opportunity, you will need:

• Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
• A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent qualification
• A minimum of two years’ Registered Nurse experience within an Intensive Care Unit, High Dependency Unit or Coronary Care Unit
• Knowledge and experience in reading and interpreting ECGs
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Experience using computerised clinical reporting systems
• Well-developed time-management and organisational skills
• The ability to use initiative and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• A commitment to ongoing professional development
• A current Working with Children Check
• A current Police Check completed within three months of the employment offer

Highly desired experience and qualifications include:

• Experience providing pre- and post-procedural care within interventional cardiology
• Additional experience within an Intensive Care or High Dependency Unit
• Postgraduate qualifications in cardiovascular or critical care nursing, or currently working towards one
• Membership of a relevant professional organisation
