About the role

Our client is seeking experienced Scrub Scout - Registered Nurses to join a supportive and highly skilled perioperative team on a full-time or part-time basis.

Opportunities are available across a range of surgical specialties, including:

• Orthopaedics
• Neurosurgery
• Spinal surgery
• Urology
• Ear, Nose and Throat
• General surgery

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering safe, evidence-based perioperative nursing care
• Performing Scrub Scout duties across your area of specialty
• Supervising and supporting Enrolled Nurses and Assistants in Nursing
• Working collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists and the wider multidisciplinary team
• Educating and supporting patients throughout their surgical journey and recovery
• Contributing to quality improvement and safety management initiatives
• Maintaining high standards of infection control and safe clinical practice
• Acting as a positive role model for safe and professional nursing care

About You

To be considered for this opportunity, you will need:

• Current unrestricted registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
• A Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Science in Nursing or equivalent qualification
• A minimum of TWO years’ Registered Nurse experience in Scrub Scout nursing
• Experience in at least one relevant specialty, including orthopaedics, neurosurgery, spinal surgery, urology, ENT or general surgery
• Current authority to work in Australia
• A current Working with Children Check
• Knowledge of and compliance with the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards
• Strong clinical skills and a commitment to high-quality patient care
• The ability to work effectively within a high-performing perioperative team
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
• A proactive, motivated and self-directed approach
• A commitment to continuous improvement and safe clinical practice
