About the Role:

• Suited for a highly experienced speech pathologist with expertise in adult admitted services (sub-acute).
• Requires excellent leadership, clinical, supervision, and training skills.
• Shared responsibility for the leadership  and development of excellence within speech pathology practice across acute/sub-acute.
• Responsible for leading and demonstrating extensive, evidence-based specialist knowledge, advanced clinical reasoning, and competencies.
• In conjunction with the speech pathology manager, the roles requires the ability to direct the team to deliver high-quality, evidence-based client care.

Requirements:

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology
• Eligibility for Certified Practicing membership of Speech Pathology Australia
• Expertise in the management of adults with disorders of communication and swallowing within a hospital setting
• Minimum of 7 years clinical expereince within a healthcare setting
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment including the ability initiate and maintain effective working professional relationships
• Experience providing mentoring/clinical supervision and coordinate student placement and Allied Health Assistants
• Demonstrate highly effective leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation, conflict resolution, and creativity in problem solving
