Job Overview:  Our client is seeking a Protocol Staff Nurse  to join their team. Under the direction and supervision of the Charge Nurse, provides quality care to patients according to established Policy, Procedures, guidelines and Standards of Nursing Practice. Actively participate in Nursing Administration, Education, and Quality improvement activities, to support the Hospital's Mission, Vision and the development of Nursing Services. Supports the philosophy and objectives of the Department of Nursing and contributes to educational efforts.

 

Job Summary: Primary Duties:

  • Maintains high standards of patient care delivery in the assigned unit.
  • Implements the policies, procedures, and guidelines of nursing services and other hospital departments when giving care to patients.
  • Ensures that patient privacy and confidentiality are maintained at all times.
  • Under the direction and supervision of the Charge Nurse, assesses the patient's condition and nursing care needs.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of nursing care actions by critical appraisal of patient outcomes.
  • Under the supervision of the Charge Nurse, administers medications and performs treatments in accordance with established standards, policies and procedures, and guidelines.
  • Maintains concise, accurate, and timely nursing records.
  • Cooperates with medical and Paramedical staff in implementing Multi-disciplinary and nursing activities for patient care delivery.
  • Reports pertinent observations and reactions regarding patients to the appropriate person(s) (Charge Nurse) and records those observations accurately.
  • Keeps the Charge Nurse and Head Nurse informed about patient care problems and other issues.
  • Participates in patient and family education and discharge planning documenting outcomes and understanding of the patient and family expectations.
  • Interacts effectively with patients, family and team members to maintain professional standards of nursing care to patients, families and visitors.
  • Demonstrates sensitivity to cultural and religious beliefs through a caring, respectful attitude.
  • Rotate to areas within Nursing Service when requested.
  • Readily accepts and participates in change and or innovations on the unit.
  • Demonstrates competency in CPR and other procedures. specific competencies emergency procedures such as Meets requirements for the unit.
  • Attends in-services and keeps Updated maintaining and achieving generic and unit specific competencies.
  • Assists with coordinating and directing the unit to encourage quality patient care and staff satisfaction.
  • Ensures that equipment and supplies are kept clean, and appropriately maintained.
  • Comply with the standard by the Approved Accreditation Standards and Hospital Policy and Procedures.

Experience and Education Requirements
  • Minimum of two (2) years post graduate experience in an acute hospital setting and minimum one (1) year in relevant specialty.             
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing/Diploma In Nursing required
  • Current Basic Life Support Certificate
  • Fluent English required
